Police Camp 2027 – Info session Thurs. Oct 1 for Grades 10, 11, and 12. The Camp takes place at St. Margaret’s School from Saturday, March 13 – Saturday March 20 (March break). Apps open on Monday, Sept 14 and close on Friday, Oct 30 at 3 pm. Interviews take place in November and December.
Resilience with Research – A free STEM mentorship program based at UBC that pairs Grade 8-12 students with a university research mentor to support them in developing a science fair project. For: BC high school students who have been impacted by violence. APPLY HERE

Indigenous Opportunities
RCMP – Indigenous Pre‑Cadet Training Program (IPTP)
The Indigenous Pre‑Cadet Training Program (IPTP) gives Indigenous youth ages 19–29 a first‑hand experience of RCMP training at Depot Division in Regina. Over a three‑week immersive session, participants receive hands‑on police skills training, defensive tactics, driving techniques, and scenario‑based learning, all while being supported by Indigenous RCMP members. The program is fully funded, including room and board.
This program is ideal for youth considering careers in public safety, law enforcement, or community‑based service.
Canadian Military (DND) – Raven Indigenous Youth Employment Program
The Raven Program is DND’s flagship Indigenous youth summer program, offering six weeks of paid training at CFB Esquimalt. Participants complete Basic Military Qualification (BMQ), take part in Cultural Experience Camp, and learn military skills including navigation, first aid, drill, weapons handling, and fieldcraft. Youth also complete a naval Day Sail aboard a Royal Canadian Navy vessel, training in firefighting, flood containment, and marine emergency response.
This program blends Indigenous teachings with military training and offers pathways to part‑time or full-time employment in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Canadian Coast Guard – Indigenous Community Boat Volunteer Program (ICBVP)
The Canadian Coast Guard’s Indigenous Community Boat Volunteer Program (ICBVP) provides funding and training to help Indigenous coastal communities gain the equipment and skills needed to participate in marine search and rescue through the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary. Youth involved in coastal communities gain exposure to marine safety, emergency response, and local waterway stewardship.
This is an excellent pathway for students interested in marine safety, environmental response, or coastal community service.
Western Canada Marine Response Corporation – Indigenous Internship Program
Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) offers a four‑month Indigenous Internship Program, hiring Indigenous interns as Marine Spill Response Technicians. Interns work as deckhands at response bases such as Beecher Bay, Victoria, Nanaimo, Burnaby, Port Alberni, or Prince Rupert. They receive paid hands‑on training in spill response operations, small vessel handling, and marine safety skills on the West Coast.
This program provides direct access to marine sector careers, environmental protection work, and emergency response operations.
