Island Medical Program – Curious about studying medicine or science in university? Some volunteering opportunities are coming up in October/November for teenagers aged 13-17 years at Jubilee Hospital. The Island Medical Program is seeking teenage volunteers aged 13-17 years to participate as patients in learning sessions with medical students. In these small group sessions, students are learning to interview adolescent patients and ask about a range of topics including – lifestyle, extra curricular activities, diet, mental health, home life, employment, education, drugs, sexuality and safety. Volunteer Patients are interviewed by two students and there is a tutor who is a practicing physician and two other students present. The sessions happen in Oct/Nov on weekdays after school.
